The Effects of Magic Group Counseling Program on Life Satisfaction, Self-Efficacy and Hope of Shelter Adolescents

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the magic-aided group counseling program on the life satisfaction, self-efficacy and hope of shelter youth. To this end, a magic group counseling program with a total 8 sessions based on the previous studies was reorganized. To evaluate the effectiveness magic group counseling program, 26 male shelter youths were selected, and the experimental group was conducted twice a week for a total of 8 sessions. And control group was done no treatment. To determine the effect of the program, pretest and post test were conducted to evaluate the life satisfaction, self-efficacy, and hope of the experimental and control groups, and data were analyzed by repeated measures analysis of variance and paired t-test. The findings of the study were as follows: The experimental group that participated in the magic group counseling program showed better improvement in satisfaction with life, self-efficacy and hope than the control group. The findings demonstrated that the magic group counseling program contributes to promote levels of mental health of shelter youth. Implications for and limitations of the current study are discussed.
